Also deputy conductor of Qatar Concert Choir and deputy Choir Master for Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra
Irish born, Alena has studied and been involved in music all her life and is passionate about music education especially for children. Formerly Director of Music at Kings College Doha, Alena now leads choirs at the Swiss International School of Qatar. She is a qualified piano teacher and also studied Irish harp. Alena has completed many choral conducting courses the most recent being the Advanced conductor’s course with the Association of British Choral Conductors in London.
Nohemi Jaime
Vocal Coach
Trained opera singer Nohemi Jaime is an experienced vocal coach from Mexico. Nohemi is an opera soloist and has performed many challenging operatic roles
Tessa Horn-Botha
Music Theory
Tessa Horn-Botha is a music teacher, classical pianist and singer who has devoted her life to music education, having spent over 40 years as an educator and public performer. She holds qualifications in piano and musical theatre from Trinity College of Music and London College of Music, University of West London.
She has conducted numerous award winning choirs and taught both solo and ensemble musical and stage performers. She joins the team of the Qatar Youth and Junior Choirs as a theory teacher and accompanist.
Vladana Ebilji
Music Theory
Tessa is joined by Vladana on the theory team. Vladana is an accomplished accompanist, piano and music theory teacher with many years experience.
Maralyn Sargunam
Administrator
Maralyn has been working with the choir from the very beginning. She comes from Sri Lanka and has two sons in the choir. The choir could not function without Maralyn who takes care of all things administrative.
