If you are interested in becoming a member of our choirs, please send an email to > firstname.lastname@example.org and state the age of the proposed singer. Auditions will be held from September.
Singers do not need to be able to read music or to have any past singing experience. The audition is more about the singer’s interests and what strengths they will bring to the spirit of choir.
The people best placed to describe our choirs are the singers themselves. Here is what the choir leader of both choirs has to say:
If you are a teenager and love to sing, perhaps you are new to Doha and would like to connect with people your own age – if so Qatar Youth Choir is the place for you to hang out. We study great music and prior to covid gave lots of performances every year. We are a travelling choir and we hope this season 2021-22 to actually travel, but with this pandemic things are a little tricky to confirm plans just yet. Throughout the year we also plan fun outings and get together outside of the choir room, the friendships are really important to us. We’d love to welcome new singers into our choir, and if you are a tenor or a bass your seat is waiting for you!
Mattias, Choir Leader, age 17
Qatar Junior Choir is divided into two groups, the travelling and non-travelling groups. This is because when you are younger than 10 it is often difficult to be away from home overnight. The combined group learns great songs, we perform in different places and stages, we play lots of games together and when it’s your birthday you have to bring treats for everyone! We love birthdays! We hope you will like to join up and sing with us.
Mia, Choir Leader, age 12
